Today let’s embark on a new sound journey and (re-)discover the music of Australian-English soft rock group Air Supply, a staple of early ’80s top 40 hit radio.
This post and its corresponding playlist will be covering Air Supply’s prime between 1980 and 1983 (hit singles and deep cuts). In this time Air Supply landed seven straight top 5 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart between 1980 and 1982, including the #1 smash „The One That You Love“ which topped the Hot 100 in summer of 1981. We will also embrace a couple of songs from the years 1985 and 1986.
On our journey we will be (re-)visiting six Air Supply albums: Lost in Love (1980), The One That You Love (1981), Now and Forever (1982), Greatest Hits (1983), Air Supply (1985), and Hearts in Motion (1986).
Now, please enjoy 21 classic Air Supply tunes with some 90 minutes of music.
Do you remember this one by Air Supply? Probably not (in case you are not a hard-core AS fan). „Love and Other Bruises“ was Air Supply’s 1976 first single from their debut album of the same name. It hit #6 in Australia.
“Every Woman in the World” was Air Supply‘s third single release from Lost in Love (1980). Like their two previous singles from that album “Every Woman …” also cracked the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart landing a #5 (while also reaching #2 on the AC chart).
