Today we take a deep dive into the sound of Earth, Wind & Fire.

EWF were one of the leading R&B groups of the ’70s (and beyond) with a sound blending a variety of styles like R&B, soul, funk, disco, Latin, Afro-pop and jazz.

Our journey will be spanning three decades, from late 1973 through spring of 1994.

I’ve split our trip into two playlists. The first will be covering EWF’s major hits in the ’70s. The second playlist shines a light on EWF’s sound in the ’80s and ’90s.

The songs have been picked from fourteen EWF albums, incl. one greatest hits album.

Please enjoy.

„September“ by Earth, Wind & Fire hit #1 on Billboard’s R&B chart (while peaking at #8 on the Hot 100) in 78. From their album The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1.
